Yellow Room Class News
Yellow Room September 28, 2023
This Week
Math: We practiced rote counting to five, used different strategies to figure out how many, and introduced a five frame so students could visually see what five looks like. Ask your student how many pet frogs Fanny has! Students taught Fanny what five looks like and different ways to count to five!
Reading: This week our letters were Aa,b,p, and l. Students were also introduced to compound words using words such as birdhouse, fishbowl, and goldfish.
Science: Students were given the challenge to build a home for a pet. We split up into small groups and each group used blocks, felt, tape, and art materials to make the perfect home for the pet they were given.
Writing: Students made lists of what pets need and used word cards to label their drawings. Each student also wrote/drew in their journal about their favorite choice for a class pet.
