This Week
Math: This week we categorized parts of the day by what happens before, during, or after a certain event. We also compared the duration of everyday events to a common unit, such as longer/shorter than a minute, and we discussed other tiem words. ( Hour, Day, Week, Month)
Writing: During centers students were tasked with a new write the room experience. We used charts with letters that are often confused ( b d, n u, m w). Students had to walk around the room finding words that contained these letters and then write them under the correct letter. A lot of students told me this was their favorite center. Reading: This week we have started our last monthly theme of the year. It is all about changes. This week we focused on changes that happen in and around us. We read a book about a little boy who was worried about a change that was coming. Ask you student if they recall what that change was! (He was going to Kindergarten)

Kid Humor
Our front playground was covered in helicopter seeds this week. This is what one student had to say about them!Student: Ms. Elise, Do you know why I need to take this seed home? I am going to plant it and grow my own helicopter!
Reminders
- May 1-Derby Parade-Please consider joining us for our annual Derby celebration. Event will take place from 10:15-11:30-Students should wear their Derby best!
- Decorated stick horses are due by April 26th-Examples will be posted to our facebook for ideas!

- Clothing from totes will be sent home Friday for a spring refresh.
